オーストラリアからの便り 第1回
現在、オーストラリア、アデレードの公立学校で学んでいる本校の4名の生徒から現地生活2週間の様子を報告する便りがきました。まさに異文化体験！！
いろいろあったようですが、皆たくましく乗り越えています。

オーストラリアに来て約2週間になりました。ここ最近、ホストファミリーとの会話も慣れ始めて何となく分かるようになりました。
学校では沢山友達も出来て充実した学校生活を送っています。ただ授業によって先生の説明が早すぎて何回も質問しないと理解ができないのでそこが大変です。
先週は4日間だけお世話になったホストファミリーがいました。そこでは一緒に会話したり映画を見たりと楽しい日を過ごしました。
It’s been about two weeks since I came to Australia. Coco Recently, I’ve started to get used to talking with my host family, and I’ve come to understand them somehow.
I have made many friends at school and have a fulfilling school life. However, depending on the class, the teacher’s explanation is too fast, and I can’t understand unless I ask many questions, so that’s a problem.
Last week, I had a host family who took care of me for only 4 days. We had a great time there, talking and watching movies together.

・私が留学を決めた理由
小学生の頃から留学に行きたいという思いはありましたが、機会がなく今回のターム留学のお話を聞いて絶対に行きたいと思いました。
もちろん、3ヶ月間1人でたくさんの初めての経験をする事はとても不安でした。
しかし、今しか出来ない貴重な経験をしたいと思い留学を決めました。
・学校生活
私が通っている’’Hallett Cove School’’は多くの留学生を受け入れており、留学生の為の授業がいくつかあります。
日本の他にドイツ、スイス、インド、オーストリアから来た留学生もいます。
学校が始まって1週間は中々緊張がほぐれず、日本人の友達とばかり話していましたが、最近はだんだん自分から現地の学生や他の国から来た留学生に声をかけて会話をする事が出来るようになってきました。
・実は私はホームステイになかなか慣れず、約2週間毎日母に泣きながら電話をしていました。最近やっと少しずつ、ここでの生活に慣れてきて学校の友達と電車に乗って遊びに出かけたり、じぶんからホストマザーに行きたい場所ややりたい事、その日の出来事などを話せるようになってきました。
この19日間、とても長いように感じました。でも帰る日まで1日も無駄にせずたくさんの経験をしたいと思います。
I’ve wanted to go to study abroad since I was in elementary school, but I didn’t have a chance to listen to this term study abroad and I definitely wanted to go.
Of course, I was very worried about having a lot of first experiences alone for 3 months.
However, I decided to study abroad because I wanted to have a valuable experience that I can only do now.
The Hallett Cove School; I go to accepts a lot of international students, and there are some classes for international students.
In addition to Japan, there are also international students from Germany, Switzerland, India and Austria.
I couldn’t relax my tension for a week after school started, and I was only talking to my Japanese friends,Recently, I’ve been able to talk to local students and international students from other countries.
Actually, I couldn’t get used to homestay, so I called my mother crying every day for about two weeks. Recently, I’ve finally gotten used to living here little by little, and I'm getting on the train with my school friends to go out to play, and I can talk about where I want to go to my host mother, what I want to do, and what happened that day.
I felt like the last 19 days were very long. But I want to have a lot of experiences without wasting a day until the day I go home.

オーストラリアに来てから約2週間が経ちましたが、まだまだ新しい環境に慣れていないのが現状です。様々な問題や困難がありました。現地の方と話すのも初めてで、思っていたよりも早くてHow are you?しか聞き取ることができませんでした。現地の家に着いてまず目についたのは、壁にかけられた大きな扇子です。ホストマザーに詳しく聞くとタイに行ったとき書いてもらったらしくとても迫力のある絵で魅了されました。学校では、いろいろな国の方と話して遊びに行き充実しています。みんな親切で愛嬌のある人たちです。
頭髪は自由、お菓子やネイル、メイク、ピアスはOKしかしスマホはNG !!!また、曜日によって1コマの授業の時間がバラバラです。
It has been about two weeks since I came to Australia, and I am still getting used to the new environment. There have been various problems and difficulties. It was the first time for me to speak with local people, and I could only hear “How are you?” when I arrived at the local house. The first thing I noticed was a large fan hanging on the wall. I asked my host mother for more information. She then told me that she had painted it when she went to Thailand, and I was fascinated by the powerful picture. At school, I really enjoy talking and playing with people from different countries. Everyone is kind and charming. You are free to wear your hair, nail, polish, makeup, and piercings. However, cell phones are not allowed. Class hours vary depending on the day of the week.

私は留学をして約3週間がたちました。
最初は慣れない環境で体調を崩したりしたが、3週間たったいまでは友達もでき、楽しく学校生活をおくれています。
オーストラリアと日本では違うところが多く、びっくりすることが多かったです。
まず1つ目にびっくりしたのが洗い物です。お湯をためて石鹸で洗って流さずにそのまま乾かすことにびっくりしました。
2つ目に靴は自分の部屋に持っていくことです。玄関がないので自分の部屋のクローゼットに靴をしまいます。少し履いていなかっただけで蜘蛛の巣ができることもあります。
3つ目は学校です。学校はとにかく日本と違いすぎて迷子になりました。
建物が多くそれぞれ授業の場所も違うので教室を覚えるのが大変でした。ロッカーの下にガムやりんごなど落ちていてびっくりしました。
I have been studying abroad for about three weeks now.
At first I got sick due to the unfamiliar environment, but after 3 weeks I have made friends and am enjoying my school life.
There are many differences between Australia and Japan, and I was often surprised.
The first thing that surprised me was washing dishes. I was surprised to see that the dishes are washed in hot water with soap and then dried without rinsing.
The second thing is to take your shoes to your room. There is no front door, so I put my shoes in the closet in my room. Sometimes, just because you haven’t worn them for a while, cobwebs form.
The third is school. Schools are so different from those in Japan that I got lost.
There are many buildings and each classroom is in a different location, so it was difficult to remember where to go to class. I was surprised to find gum and apples under my locker.
